Flying the karakoram

The Karakoram is home to some of the highest and most spectacular mountains on Earth. Towering granite walls, immense glaciers, and unpredictable weather make it one of the most challenging environments a paraglider can explore.

These two films document my expedition through northern Pakistan, where I set out to fly among some of the world's greatest peaks. From soaring above vast glaciers to navigating remote valleys beneath mountains such as Rakaposhi and Ultar Sar, the journey offered a rare perspective on one of the planet's last truly wild mountain landscapes.

Paragliding provides a unique way to experience the Karakoram. Instead of following trails through the valleys, flight reveals the scale of the terrain from above, allowing access to places that are difficult or impossible to reach by any other means. Every flight depended on reading the weather, understanding the mountains, and working with the conditions rather than against them.

These films capture not only the beauty and scale of the Karakoram, but also the sense of freedom and exploration that makes free flight such a powerful tool for discovering the world's most remote places.
